Vitamin A - what's the big deal?

The SkinDose philosophy and approach to skincare is centred around vitamin A.

Vitamin A plays a pivotal role in skin health, but its benefits are not widely understood. Karolina, SkinDose Director, is committed to educating clients on the benefits of vitamin A, backed up by 20 years’ of expertise and scientific research from Environ.

"It's science - and the proven results are clear" - Karolina, SkinDose director

Does my body naturally produce vitamin A?

In short, no. Vitamin A is unique - during foetal development, we get vitamin A from our mum during mitosis when the egg meets the sperm. As soon as we are born and exposed to oxygen and light, the levels of vitamin A start falling, and this is technically when ageing starts. We just visibly notice the signs later on in life.

We must therefore apply vitamin A daily through SkinDose facials and Environ products to replenish the levels for our skin.

What happens if I am deficient in vitamin A?

“Ageing skin is a direct result of sun-induced vitamin A deficiency. Correct the deficiency and you’ll have more radiant looking skin”.

Dr Des Fernandes, founder and scientific director of Envrion, has spent many years researching the impact of vitamin A on the skin and has created science-backed products which bring about proven results and skin radiance, all incorporating a balance of vitamin A.

A vitamin A deficiency could lead to:

  • Skin abnormalities such as pigmentation

  • Sun damage

  • Ageing

  • Skin cancer

Sun damage to the skin is very common in both men and women, causing potentially significant long-term effects.

Can you tell me more about the long-term benefits of vitamin A?

Vitamin A is scientifically proven to combat the effects of ageing and keep the skin glowing and radiant. It also:

  • Keeps the skin moisturised and gives it a radiant glow

  • Strengthens the skin’s outer layer

  • Stimulates the production of natural protein, keeping the skin looking healthy

  • Supports the skin’s immune system to prevent the appearance of breakouts

  • Assists in reducing the likelihood of the development of skin cancer

SkinDose facials utilise Environ products to replenish vitamin A in our cells. A regular skincare routine incorporating SkinDose facials and the use of Environ products at home is proven to replenish vitamin A over the long term, bringing about an array of benefits mentioned above.

Can I just use any products with vitamin A?

There are many types of vitamin A. A random selection and application of products which claim to contain vitamin A is not likely to bring desired results.

Environ are truly pioneers in the field. Alongside this, SkinDose’s expertise using the science-backed products from Environ ensure the optimal combination of vitamin A products. Karolina takes the time to understand each client’s needs, with a full consultation before the first facial. Environ’s products will be incorporated into a tailored skincare routine (including facials and products to use at home) to suit your own needs and skin type.

"The results from SkinDose’s clients are proof that a long term skincare plan which incorporates vitamin A can bring about long lasting skin health and radiance"

- Karolina, SkinDose Director
